2010 Camp is scheduled for June 8 - July 31! Camp Director: Sharon Irby The Hope Depot Foundation adopts Camp Providence for a work day! The Home Depot Foundation is conducting "Team Depot" Thursday, May 6th at 8:30am at Camp Providence! Home Depot has ask Camp Providence to provide 15 to 20 volunteers to work with the 15 to 20 they are sending to the camp to perform various task. Home depot will coordinate the registration and match the volunteers with the team leaders and the Home Depot volunteers for the task they will be performing. Lunch will be served at the camp that day. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! We need to find someone who can prep the walls in the house before Home Depot comes out Thursday, May 6th. There needs to be some mud and tape work done on some of the sheet rock. Also, we need to develop a list of volunteers that will be present on behalf of Camp Providence ASAP; Please let me (Stanley James, sjames83@bellsouth.net) know if you or others you know plan to participate. We only need about 20 volunteers. It would be very helpful to know if the volunteers have specific trade skills. Don't forget! "Team Depot" day at the Camp begins Thursday, May 6th at 8:30am. Camp Providence is a non-profit summer day-camp in a Spiritual setting that serves youth of all ages, especially focusing on underprivileged children in and around Anderson,SC. Children from low-income homes, sometimes battered and abused, are able to "escape" at camp as an alternative to the street. By offering camp at NO COST to families, serving FREE lunches through the USDA meal program, and driving the children to-and-from camp each day, we help youth & families experience camp who might otherwise be unable to. Every day, Campers will participate in games, sports, crafts, swimming, canoeing and more. Whatever the activity, from singing songs to piggy-back rides, we want to bring these kids what they need ..... ..... LOVE, ATTENTION & ENCOURAGEMENT.
